Continuation... from page 4
While we were sitting, talking and eating, some of us climbed a rock and we saw a body of water and the nearby mountains, but we were not satisfied. Our guides tried to look if we could actually climb farther. Until somebody said that they finally found a way to reach the top. Everybody stood up and off we go again.
It was such a difficult climb but we were all looking forward to something more exciting, because we saw a rock, quite big and huge, which is good for climbing. It was the most dangerous part of the adventure because we have to clamber through the rocks. We were then rock climbing, not only trekking and hiking and mountain climbing. The gray rocks were sharp, unstable and perilous, as if we were passing through the hole of a needle. Just one wrong step and you will not see yourself in the ground.
One at a time, we crawled through the unsafe rocks with full concentration and care. Until we came to a spot, even if we did not reach the peak yet, we were already amazed at the beauty of what we saw. Finally, we reached the zenith of the mountain. We could not utter any words except, marvelous, splendid, beautiful, exhilarating, breathtaking, lovely, spectacular, magnificent, superb, and all the words you could probably find in the dictionary just to describe the serenity and impressive beauty of Mount Mab-o.
We shouted and enjoyed at the peak as much as we could. Our hearts were beating fast in a crescendo. We were happy, merry, gay, mirthful, delighted, overjoyed, elated, and ecstatic to be able to discover and experience this feeling of fulfillment. The long and excruciating traverse was worth a sacrifice. We felt like we were on top of the world. One thing was nice it was not yet so hot. Before the heat could penetrate our body, time was over, we started descending to go back to reality.
Feeling satisfied and fulfilled, we slowly paced down and soon we realized how we survived the hazards when we were going up to the top. Going down was much more difficult. I was already tired. I felt the pain in my knees and in my toes. We went on treading like we were just walking home. At last, we reached Malumpati. We were shouting and everybody could almost hear us. We were so jolly, lively, overwhelmed and spirited because of what we just undergone.
We said, it was such a unique journey and as much as we would like to share how we felt, it is not the same unless you experience it for yourself. It was something like an adventure to another paradise.
